Abralon is a unique multifunctional patented sanding material developed for the flexible sanding of both smooth and profiled surfaces. Abralon creates a smooth sanding pattern on angled surfaces and edges, while minimizing the risk of pressure marks. Abralon is especiallly suitable for use in the automotive and marine industries, produces exceptional finishes on wood urethane finishes. The flexible weave allows water and air to pass freely, making the product suitable for both dry and wet sanding. When sanding dry, the fabric moves constantly so that dust can't cling to the abrasive so that the surface can be easily cleaned with compressed air. When used wet, the open cell design allows the water or solvent in the foam center to be forced through the openings in the fabric face when compressed and absorbed back in when expanded. The foam center also provides for even surface pressure that helps eliminate “fnger marks” when hand sanding.
*Coarser grits are recommended for, surface preparation of composite body parts, and fine sanding of the body surfaces before primer an top lacquer.
*Finer grits are suitable for, smoothing of primers and bottom lacquers. Preparation of surfaces between blending, sanding of pot marked surfaces, and preparation of the top coat before polishing.
